ePortfolio Reflection: Planning change

We will communicate primarily over text, we already have a group chat set up. We meet in person three times a week, for class days and clinical, but we often have other tasks to accomplish. Being able to reach each other outside of class time is important for clearing up issues that might need to be addressed immediately. I don’t expect accountability to be a big issue with our group, we’re all responsible senior nursing students, but if something does come up I assume we’ll address it quickly, directly, and as a team.

A potential issue I see with this project, at least something more likely to be an issue than it was last semester, is scheduling and communication. Our group this semester is about twice as big as it was last semester in EBP I which means we need to find time that works with twice as large a group. We are also doing this project with our clinical group, not necessarily a group of friends, which might change the atmosphere of the project. I do think not doing the project with friends might give this more of a professional atmosphere, and we’re doing more work so it makes to be working with more people; regardless, it is something I am conscious of going into the project. It will be nice to get more opinions throughout the process and I think we will end up working even better together during clinicals.

Knowing our resources available to us will be helpful throughout the process. Like using library services for research help, our clinical instructor for information about the floor, and our professors for clarification about assignments. Disseminating a EBP project will help us later in our nursing practice by cultivating a sprite of inquiry within ourselves, as well as help us if we need to do one as part of our new grad program.
